•Jammed uPVC doors opened.

•Replacement mechanisms fitted
•uPVC lock replacements (eurocylinders)
•Door adjustments on difficult doors

This type of door has a locking mechanism that is more complicated than the normal mortice or rim lock found on most wooden doors. Typically there will be multiple locking points along the length of the door to engage with the door frame. These are operated from a central 'gearbox' to which the handles and the locking cylinder are fitted. Seen by most people as maintenance free they are subject to failure the same as any other mechanical device that is not maintained. Components within the gearbox can fail and leave the door in a state where it will neither lock nor unlock depending on when it failed. Opening a door where the mechanism has jammed the door shut requires special tools and knowledge of the types of mechanism in order to open the door with the minimum of damage. Some minor marking of the door or frame surface may be inevitable in this circumstance.

Locking cylinders failing in such a way that the key cannot be removed when it is turned either to the locked or unlocked position is a common occurrence and requires the euro cylinder to be replaced. There are many different size combinations for these locks and it is improtant to get the correct size for your door thickness.
